The
Other Side Of the Battle Fence…
The Writing Services Site Owners Defend Themselves:
Meanwhile, the owners of sites providing research and writing
services have equal arguments to defend themselves. They too
argue that the accusation that they are providing cheating
services to students isn’t true. They are merely assisting
and facilitating the students in their research, and students
are going for them, because they are not getting the necessary
help from their teachers. Particularly, the supervisors in
the case of research students are not able to give students
the space and time which they require. Mr. Roberts of Cheater.com
agrees that his Web site may make it seem easier than ever
to fake academic research. But he denies encouraging plagiarism.
"The site wasn't at all to promote plagiarism, but to
sort of put the library online," he says. "I thought
if I put term papers online, then kids wouldn't have to spend
time looking in all the encyclopedias and books and stuff
like that. Kind of like Cliff Notes."
Administrator
of another thriving writing website said: “We advice
the students that whatever they are getting from us is just
reference and research work, which they must adapt to their
own needs. It is very much like a plough work and it’s
the students who are going to sow and reap their own fruits.
We do save the students lots of time in extensive researching;
we in fact are trying to make them more efficient.”
